I'm an Editor with 20 years of experience. My passion for storytelling has led me to a wide array of subjects and forms, including long and short-form documentaries, fiction feature films, and television. Occasionally I work without a producer as a preditor, assuming full responsibility for the final cut.

I enjoy working with visual mediums and regard film and television as important outlets to reach people and address issues relevant to today’s world. I'm passionate about all aspects of editing, from the problem-solving that comes with the process of storytelling to the different meanings one can derive from juxtaposing particular images. I see sound as a crucial element of my work and I give a lot of thought to how I can optimize music and sound effects to best serve the story. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I’m fluent in Spanish and have edited feature-length films in both English and Spanish.

I've had the privilege of collaborating with award-winning Directors and Executive Producers including, Ethan Hawke, Stacey Holman, Lucy Kennedy, Juan Mejía, John Hoffman, Lydia Tenaglia, Ted Schillinger, Chris Collins, Henry Louis Gates Jr., and Dyllan McGee.

My work has been shown at multiple festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, SXSW, Venice, Hot Docs, Berlin, and Telluride; and has aired on PBS, Netflix, Discovery, A&E, and Esquire among others.

I live in Hoboken, NJ with my wife, 3 teenagers, 1 dog, and 2 cats. Before becoming an editor I worked as a pizza delivery person, waitress, bartender, and journalist. I have a BA in Communications from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and a Masters in Media Studies with a certificate in film from The New School University in New York City.
